Martina Swartwood (goes by Tina) is a Sophmore at NDSU majoring in Industrial Engineering. This semester she got a job as a Resident Assistant in Weible, one of NDSU's low rise freshman dorms. I decided to interview her about her free time and various things involving. Because of everything an RA has to do, Tina doesn't have tons of free time. Most of the free time she does have is taken up by homework, answering questions from residents and sleeping. Living in a dorm does help her to stay closer to people and make more friends, because being around people all the time "makes you social, you can't live in your room forever and you have to leave to eat" Tina said. Campus groups such as Campus Attractions and the Residence Hall Association put on various events throughout the year, Tina enjoys going to grocery bag bingo, Pinterest night and the pajama jam because she makes friends with the people sitting around her. Being that Tina is a STEM major, I asked her what kinds of things she likes to do to stay creative. Some of the things she enjoys doing are painting, knitting, calligraphy and making her RA boards in the hallway. These things help her to get math off her mind and do tasks that don't have rules. To stay active in her free time, Tina likes to swim at the wellness center and use the campus bikes when it's warmer. She also loves to use her scooter to get to class when it's warmer because "it's badass." Her favorite types of movies to watch when she has time are comedies, mockumentaries, and murder documentaries. When asked why comedy movies are her favorite and she commented, "cause they hit different, screw rom coms."
