With Estimated murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, California had the highest number of crimes within a five-year span. This is simply because California has the highest population of the three states I chose. This crime increased the most in California. In Oregon and Washington overall the crime rate only increased by around 10 people over five years in both states. In California, the crime increased by 424 people. This crime, unfortunately, did not decrease in any state I chose. The data shows that a higher population state will have a higher number of this crime. Over time each state's crime fluctuated between years. Even though they overall went up in crime, certain years this crime went down.

I made the mistake of choosing one of the most populated states in the U.S. so in this crime, California also had the most amount of aggravated assault. Interestingly, the number of aggravated assaults went down over time in every state. Washington state has the smallest amount of change from 2000 to 2005. This data shows that over time the amount of aggravated assault in these states has gone down, and this probably shows in other states as well.
Population Tool:
I used this governmental census website because of its a reliable source for US population information.
