Before the apple watch became popular, the Fitbit was very popular with active people and even normal people. Personally, I would never decribe myself as a athletic person but I love my fitbit. I can know when I've hit over 10,000 steps which, during marching band season is almost everyday. With a fitbit you can also keep track of your sleep, track your food and water and even use the app as a period tracker (which comes in very handy). Because I'm such a fan of the device and use it everyday, I decided to look up the companies environmental standards/ impact. According to the Fitbit website the company requires their suppliers to meet environmental standards set in several rules they have set. They require the suppliers to put out as little waste as possible or eliminate waste by modifying produdction, handle and store chemicals in a way that won't be harmful, use a water system that conserves water and several others. Now that is just what fitbit says they do on their website, I dug a little deeper to see if there was a report on what actually happens. I was sort of unsuccesful in finding anything other than that they are manufactured in singapore. Fitbits are not recycled and their is no buyback system from the company so this adds to their environmental impact.

I’ve learned how important non-biased writing is and how damaging biased writing can be on both the article and public opinion. When writing news articles as a journalist it’s incredibly important to double and triple-check that sources are very ...
