Kevin Hart and Semiotics

For this weeks blog post I will be explain semiotics and how it has to do with Kevin Harts Hyundai Commercial. Semiotics is sort of hard to explain but it is the study of signs and symbols and their use or interpretation. Language creates myths that we have to understand in our minds. Kevin Hart starred in a super bowl Hyundai commerical that is a good example of this concept. In this commerical Kevin Harts daughter goes out on a date and takes her dads car. What the commerical shows is that Kevin can track his daughter on his apple watch. Kevin follows her on her date and you can immediatly tell his is a protective dad that cares about his daughter.  In this commerical the signified is the main idea that Hyundai cars are reliable and trustworthy. In my opinion the signifier in this commerical would be the car because it is the center of the advertisement and is used to show the theme.
